A domain is a useful starting point when an account enters your research queue. The company research tool turns one public domain or URL into one returned company record that you can inspect before adding it to account notes. Carry the source date, preserve estimated fields, and turn missing data into a clean handoff for the next human check.
A compact account intake record you can review, download, and hand to the next researcher with its unknowns intact.

Start with a brief
Turn one input into a usable research task
Turn one public company domain into a reviewable record with available facts, source context, and explicit unknowns.
Stored locally for this task. It is not placed in the setup URL.
Generated prompt
Call spawnr_tools to inspect availability and the exact schema. Then call spawnr_tool_quote with {"tool":"company-research","input":{"domain":"stripe.com"}}. Show the quote and wait for approval. Only after approval call spawnr_tool_run with the returned quote_id, approved=true, and the private access_token if returned; never display or export that private token. Return the single company record exactly as received, identify the returned company and domain first, preserve blank fields, label employee ranges as estimates, and finish with three questions that still need first-party or human verification. Do not invent contacts, revenue, buying intent, recent events, or a batch list.

What you get from one lookup
Enter a public domain such as stripe.com and inspect the identity before you use the record. The saved example contains three separate lookups for Stripe, Vercel, and Linear. Each row keeps the returned company name, domain, description, available profile fields, and a public LinkedIn URL when one was present. This is enough to orient a first conversation and decide what deserves a closer source check.
The table is a real saved result captured on 2026-09-14. It is a dated example, not a claim that every company returns the same fields or that a company’s facts have been refreshed since capture. Vercel and Linear have no returned industry value in this sample, so the public table leaves those cells blank. An empty field is a research prompt, not evidence that the company lacks the attribute.
One public domain or URL per request
Available company facts with missing fields kept visible
Employee bands shown as estimates, not verified headcount
A downloadable shape that can become account notes
A short account-intake method
Start with the exact business domain. A parent company, subsidiary, product site, and regional site can describe different subjects, so check the returned name and domain before attaching the record to an account. Place the capture date beside the row and open the company’s own site when you need current product language.
The available description provides account context and a route to the next research step. If the record says the company works in financial services or developer tooling, carry that into a separate review. For employee ranges of 10K-50K, 1K-5K, or 251-1K, retain the estimate label instead of turning it into a staffing fact. Revenue, buying intent, contacts, and recent events belong in a separate verification queue.
Confirm the returned identity before saving the record
Separate returned facts from your account hypothesis
Convert missing fields into specific questions
Open first-party pages before making a current claim
Where the boundary is
This workflow is a single-company orientation tool. It does not return a batch company list, verified contacts, verified email addresses, revenue, buying intent, recent events, or ongoing monitoring. Contacts, revenue and buying intent are not verified by this tool. A LinkedIn URL in a returned record is a link to inspect; it is not proof of employment, role, or current activity. The source links below identify the companies used in the dated showcase, while the returned record remains the evidence for the displayed fields.
Choose the tool when one careful first pass is more useful than a broad but unreviewed list. After the lookup, download the brief, mark the unknowns, and verify the one fact that could change the next conversation. Connect the same bounded task to an assistant through MCP when you want the lookup available in chat; approval still precedes the run.
Capture date is not the last-updated date of every field
Provider estimates remain estimates
Public source pages do not independently verify each returned field
Use human or first-party verification for consequential claims
The next useful action
Paste one domain, review the returned identity, and download the record. Start at [the company research tool](https://thespawn.io/tools/company-research) or [connect an assistant](https://thespawn.io/for-agents/claude?workflow=company-enrichment). Before handing the account to the next researcher, mark one missing or estimated field and carry the source link with the note. That small handoff keeps enrichment useful without pretending that an initial record is a complete view of the company.

Questions before you run it
What does the company enrichment tool return?
One returned company record for a public domain or URL, including whatever name, description, industry, employee estimate, founding year, location, and public profile link are available. Missing fields stay missing.
Are the company facts independently verified?
The saved record is a source-aware starting point. Employee ranges are estimates, and a public company link is a page to inspect rather than independent verification of every returned field.
Can I find contacts, revenue, or buying intent?
The supported task is a single-company lookup. It does not provide verified contacts or emails, revenue, buying intent, recent events, or monitoring.
Can I use the same task from an assistant?
Approval is explicit: call spawnr_tools, then spawnr_tool_quote, show the quote, and wait before calling spawnr_tool_run. Retain the returned record and receipt with your notes.
What does the current tool catalog charge?
In the 17 September 2026 catalog check, company-research showed no customer charge. The current flow still requires a live quote and approval before a run, and pilot availability can change, so inspect spawnr_tools and the quote before each lookup. A five-run per identity daily cap is an operational pilot limit, not a promise of unlimited use.
